As most of you know, the journey of credit repair can be draining and stressful to say the least. In my case it was a cathartic experience to have been a 740 less than a year ago, to a recent 546. I accept full responsibility for my mis-management and am focused on trying to repair in the next 18 months. For inspirational purposes: Please list your before credit scores to present, and name a few bullets of logic that help improve your scores. Thanks very much to all who submit. Kind regards, Mike
Our recent score changes are below. I haven't checked them in awhile. They don't reflect a true picture of our journey. Last year DH had scores in the 400s and I in the mid 500s. Mostly, what I've gotten out of all this is that you don't have to sit on your hind parts and feel frustrated and helpless. When I started last year, there was a collection account from the company I was working for (I wasn't working for them at the time it went to collection). But suddenly I had access to the computer and proof that it was paid BEFORE it went to collection. I had printouts and the billing department at the company on my side and STILL couldn't get the CA to remove the derog. I can remember sitting there in tears from frustration. It's since come off as has so much more. Empowerment is a strong tool.
