Re: Sue CA and CRA if CA not bonded donna8284, They are located in Tampa..... damn trying to find the site for ga to inq about the bonds.........
Re: Sue CA and CRA if CA not bonded Sure mindcrime Do some searching, you may find that there are certain laws in your state that you can work to your advantage. It's kind of disgusting we have to work this hard to get rid of some sleazy CA but they've shown me the only way to play is to sink to their level, LOL.
Re: Sue CA and CRA if CA not bonded I also will need to check back with State of Texas Sec. of State office to see if Calvary Investments has their bond posted. They were CA for original creditor Mobil Oil. I paid them when I didn't know better < debt was mine, but I didn't know enough to seek written commitment to delete for payment> Believe their offices are in Arizona/ I bet they do have a bond posted for Texas, since they are a CA for such a large company, but it never hurts to look under every rock, esp when dealing with credit critters @@@ Right?
Re: Sue CA and CRA if CA not bonded This is a cool site and has links for every state: http://acclaimcreditcards.hypermart.net/states.htm Sassy
Re: Sue CA and CRA if CA not bonded Mindcrime, Here's for Nevada with links, I looked at the Department of Financial Institutions site and they've a list of agencies but it reads to be outdated. http://www.lawdog.com/states/nv/st1c.htm Sassy
Re: Sue CA and CRA if CA not bonded Thanks Sassy. I looked through it as well. AAC is not listed, however I'm so tired and I am having a hard time figuring out if they need to be licensed here to collect when they are out of state and so is the OC. Maybe I'll just call the Financial Institutions Div. on Monday.
Re: Sue CA and CRA if CA not bonded yw mindcrime, I'm going to bed too. Here's a better link for all the states than the other I listed: http://www.nascio.org/stateSearch/displayCategory.cfm?Category=regulation#Arizona It's my understanding, I'm in Arizona, that if a CA is trying to collect from me, no matter where they are located, because I am in Arizona and I'm the one they are trying to collect from (read: they are bringing their business to my door), they do have to be licensed here. Blissfull dreams to you. Sassy
Re: Sue CA and CRA if CA not bonded Sassy, I'll bookmark it for the morning. I'm sure I can dig up one more violation on these ding bats. I've already got them right where I want them (plenty of well documented violations) and it's only several more days and counting left until I either file (finally) against them or be one step closer (just 1 more derog!) to having a clean report. Okay it's time for bed. I'm starting to feel like a permanent virtual fixture here on creditnet. Sweet dreams of FICO and random number generators.
Re: Sue CA and CRA if CA not bonded Mindcrime, two factors are important...the state you are in and the state the CA is in....they have to be legal in both states...so you need to check both states licensing requirements! So, based on what I read about Nevada, you have a right to know if they had a background check done, etc. Contact the AG email link for Nevada and ask them if that company has completed legal requirement to solicit debts in Nevada, providing address of the company. The email is: aginfo@ag.state.nv.us and was on the site I found when searching "Attorney General Nevada." They'll direct you to who knows. Maggie, I'm so sorry I missed chatting with you! But, I'll include the $10 as you stated. I can't thank you enough!! I am going to check on two others, as well. I'll do some searching as well for the names that have been brought up here! George, you crack me up! Kiyi: Ok, just because it is exempt in your state doesn't mean they are exempt from the federal laws. I have turned over and received assistance CA's to AG in states that don't have specific licensing. Don't let that stop you and don't forget to see what the laws are in the state where the CA IS located. It's a double bonus then, because you have 2 state AG's and laws to look at! Laurie33: Asset is located in Florida?? Or are you located in Fl? And, if they are listed, I would assume they aren't licensed in that state.
Re: Sue CA and CRA if CA not bonded All: GA consumer information line is (404) 656-3337. They should be able to direct you to who has the info. Also check the George state website. You might look into finding the comptroller of the state. Sorry this is in 2 messages..I'm trying to get all the info I can in and editing time ran out. Good luck all. I listed steps in a thread titled "Nana's Notions" if you want them.
Re: Sue CA and CRA if CA not bonded The branch of Asset that is contacting me is from Brandon FL. I'm in WI. They do have a main office (?) in MI though I think. I know for me, they don't have to be licensed here if all they do is communicate through mail or by phone. They do have to be bonded, which I'm working on finding out if they are. BUT, I didn't find them on that licensing site you posted for FL so I wonder if they don't have a license in FL? That would be the end of all my troubles with them, right? LOL.
Re: Sue CA and CRA if CA not bonded OH, I do believe so, Laurie! I think that means you are in great shape!
NanaC, anything from SecStateTX I am so ready to get off the library felon list. Though I do enjoy knowing that I have such good company being on a collections list with other "LF's" as yourself and DanceRat. did you get the certificate of no report for Unique Collections from State of Texas? did you send them your $10 upfront? I am posting this as an update, rather than starting a new thread directed to you, because I think this thread had some really cool info on how to look up whether the CA's are bonded in the states and how that information may be helpful ....someone may have missed it the first time around BTW, Nanac, if you see this, and have time to chat, post a note to me on what would be a good time . Weather is pretty here in Dallas today.
NanaC, anything from SecStateTX On this website listed for FL, I have looked up Calvary and can't find them in the search function. Does this mean I can send them a letter about them not being licensed or bonded here?
Re: Re: Sue CA and CRA if CA not bonded I have a CA in Massachusetts that has ignored two Validation requests and continues to call and mail.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Sue CA and CRA if CA not bonded What good will it do? Will it put money in my pocket or just get them to stop calling?
Re: Sue CA and CRA if CA not bonded The OC is on my reports but not the CA/psudoAttorney (J.A. CAMBECE LAW OFFICE)
