I have been sued from a collection agency for a lousy $350.00 for medical care at a hospital . They have a bad reputation in our town . I found out thru blue Cross that I only owe $35.00 . I diputed this bill with them before but they chose to file papers anyway. They still want there prosessing fee and half of the Attorny's fee's . Should I dispute this and go to court ? Why should I pay for processing fee's and a Attorney fee if I only owed $35.00 . Maybe I should just pay the hospital ? Thanks Dave

I would pay the original creditor the 35 bucks, get an invoice showing what was paid and the zero balance. Let them take you to court- show the judge that the 35 bucks you owed is paid and that these jokers are trying to extort an additional 315 bucks out of you. Can't guarantee it will work, but what do you have to lose- I most certainly wouldn't pay the CA unless the court orders it.
