MY husband had an account with chase, I was an authorized user, the account was turned over to NCO (1 yr past due) my questions are can I be held liable? Also they are calling everyone (they do not have our current phone #) and I mean they are calling ex- spouses, sister, children, parents ect, is this acceptable? How do we get them to stop, I would rather deal with them only in writing, from what I am reading that is preferable and also since we have recieved no notification from them that they even have the account how do we start to handle it? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
AUs are not liable. Creditors can call around trying to get informaiton about where you are. They can't talk about the debt though.
You might be liable if you are in a community property state. And, if you want to be proactive about this, then send them a letter. Is it on your credit report?
I just found out that they did talk about the debt ....they told her his daughter that lives out of state "that he was deliquent on a cc debit it has been sitting on her desk since 11/4 and she demands we call her back by the end of the month or she will take us to court" what now
Well, if you want to sue them, then the daughter needs to be prepared to testify. There are several very recent threads about NCO and the fact that they crawl back under their rock very easily. Is this a very large debt?
Not very large less then 500.00. I tried doing a search but I'm not coming up with anything??? I'm just unsure what to do now....do I contact them and ay why are you giving up my information, do I contact my AG, I'm so angry right now, we didn't even know they had this debt until last week when they called my ex....
