Household Auto gave in!! I sent them a lawsuit threat letter saying they have 10 days to send me a UDF form to remove the derog on my report or face legal consequences. I sent the letter not giving too much away.. as Butch advised in the thread in which I first mentioned this issue. Anyway, I checked my reports today, and the derog is no where to be seen, and my TU FICO (bought it today) went up about 20 points!! No more derogs on my transunion report!! Thanks to those who advised on the issue. It's a good day
Congrats! I just got rid of my very last derog today also. I'd say that the credit gods are feeling extra generous today.
Here's the thread http://consumers.creditnet.com/straighttalk/board/showthread.php?s=&postid=338859#post338859 I had already written the letter given them what I later thought, after reading your reply, was too much information. Either way, it looks like it worked out just fine
Re: Re: Suh-WEET!!!!! I wasn't working with a sample letter.. I was reply directly to a letter they sent me asking for more information for them to investigate my claim. I also didn't quote a bunch of legal codes and other jargon. I simply told them that they reporting that I was late as recently as 3/2003, when infact I had closed the account on 1/2003. Send a UDF form to remove the late in 10 days, or I'll sue. That's the basic idea of the letter.
