I had a nice surprise when I checked Privacy Guard today.

My bankruptcy has been completely removed from my Equifax report! It was discharged in October 2003. Yep, only 5 months ago.

My unique situation may have helped. I filed a CH.7 in Dec. 2002, forced to convert to a 13, which was then dismissed in May 2003. Refiled Ch. 7 in August 2003, and that was discharged in October 2003.

In November 2003, I first disputed both entries on my EQ report as not mine. The discharged bankruptcy was not verified and deleted. The dismissed bankruptcy came back verified, but now it showed discharged. I think that is what made it easy. They showed that case number as being discharged, and not dismissed. That is wrong. I simply disputed as "I do not have a Bk case #xxxx that is discharged."

And look at that, it is gone from Equifax. I also had National City removed from all of my accounts, and MBNA now reports on EQ and TU as "paid as agreed" instead of IIB.

now, if I can only get that damn FUSA to stop showing balances on my discharged accounts.......
