Hey guys, Just wanted to put together a quick survey regarding effectiveness of estoppel. I think it is a great letter if used properly and if the reaoning behind it is understood BEFORE its use. By success, I don't only mean deletion, but responses from bullish ca's and oc's that indicate it really got their attention! Please post what estoppel did for you or if it worked!!
Worked for me, however mine was partial/conditional. They could only contact me if they were providing validation. Anything else was not allowed (hee hee). They could not provide validation, they admitted it, they caved... They said in writing that they would 'close' the account and what they reported they would have removed. They did what they promised.
Thanks Queen...I am about to use it on my last 3 ca accounts (paid). Just found out that 2 of those 3 agencies ARE NOT licenced and bonded to collect here in TX, hee hee. Clever idea with the no-response unless validating thing. I like that. Did you word it that way in your validation request?
I presume that you mean that you are telling them that they cannot contact you unless it is to validate?
LOL...I read in another post that you would not respond unless a question or whatever was directed specifically for/to you because of something that happened yesterday. Just wanted to let you know that you are always welcome to comment on my ramblings...
Thank you. Howevever that does not prevent me from asking questions however stupid some commentators may deem them to be. Of course if past events are of any value for judgmental purposes it may not be hard for them to accuse me of trying to sell my questions. LOL
