Hi, Here is my situation: I called T-mobile about a bill issue that got resolved, and I asked to also be upgraded in my minute plan. Rep told me "no problem". I proceeded to make the extra calls. I get my phone bill and BAM!!! $600 for extra minutes!!!! I've called customer service and have spoken to supervisors so many times. They stick to their mantra that "there are no notes to support your claim". All they do is tell me they'd be happy to upgrade me now. It pisses me off since they don't seem to understand, that it doesn't help me AT ALL if I can't pay the $600!!! I refused to pay this bill, and my phone has recently been disconnected. I know it will soon go on my credit report either through them, or a third party. I've successfully removed minor negative items from my credit report in the past (late payments). I simply disputed online through the agencies. I figure a charge off from T-mobile will be a bigger struggle...or will it???? Does anyone have any advice or experience with this? Am I better off eating this bill? I'd have to put it on credit card and slowly pay this off. This sucks so bad, because I've finally gotten my credit to a decent point...don't want it to get ruined because of this.. Any help would be appreciated.
I feel your pain. I had the same problem with Cingular. I hope someone can help you. I would like an answer to this one as well! Mine was worse in one instance. I had 2 lines. I kept the second current. They disconnected BOTH and charged me an early termination fee on the second. I told them to get fVcked! It was sent to NCO and I am using my usual tactics to get rid of them. However, they appeared on my CR at TU 2 weeks ago and tanked my score 75 points.
1* They can't do that You have to be the one to terminate it early not them. Send them an ITS for breach of contract.
I had the same problem with Cingular almost four years ago, Fiancee had two phones with them (one for each of us). Cingular came out with a better plan for mobile to mobile minutes, and we switched to the new plan. One month later.. boom $1226 in mobile to mobile & minutes. Argued for a while, but they refused to budge so we didn't pay. They sold the account to Allied Interstate a few months later. I argued with them about it and sent them a cease and desist on her behalf. 4-6 weeks later we got a letter in the mail thanking us for our prompt payment from Allied Interstate. A month later both disappeared from her credit reports and haven't been back since. I happen to like T-Mobile. However at this point, there isn't really much you can do but send a letter up the food chain at T-Mobile or Cingular. With all the competition going on, they might want to keep you as a customer and fix the problems.
