Re: Re: T-Mobile-What CRA do they check? T-Mobile = TransUnion. It doesn't matter what your score is, as long as you have no utility or telephone company chargeoffs or badies on your report. If your in the 600's go for it, you should get it no problem. If you get asked for a security deposit on the internet, then go into the store, show your id, and a residential phone bill and you will be approved.
I absolutely love T-Mobile... I have no problem with billing, I got the service completely set up without ever even talking with anyone at T-Mobile... I didn't have to pay a deposit and they checked TU. Score was mid 500s... I was shocked too... prissypoo
I'll put in my .02 on the subject. I just switched to Verizon from AT&T and I think Verizon is much, much better in customer service and coverage than AT&T, Sprint, Cingular - I've had them all in the Boston area. Verizon pulled TU and I understand they also report to CRAs, maybe just TU. Just under a month, so I don't know for sure.
Re: Re: Re: T-Mobile-What CRA do they check? Doesn't even seem to matter with utility bill collections... I've got a Bell collection plus a charge off on TU, TU is 650 and I was approved on the spot with no deposit. So far T-mobile is good.
Re: Re: Re: T-Mobile-What CRA do they check? darkdoj, I wasn't going to correct you, but I had second thoughts and want to ensure that no one is led astray by your comments above. 1) Sprint DOES have 24/7 support. I'm not sure why you think that T-Mobile is the only company that does. 2) You may have not lost a voicemail where you live, but over 200,000 users in the midwest did- a whole weeks' worth. 3) The fact that T-Mobile 'piggybacks' on AT&T and Cingular is just another reason to avoid them, you pay a higher rate for each minute/ or per plan because they have to pay use of those lines. And when those lines go down, they are subject to when another company can repair them. Just another reason they get dropped calls due to so many different companies â??piggy back-ingâ?. 4) You are correct in that T-Mobile phones don't roam much...in large metro areas. So if you travel by plan to metro areas you should be covered. If you travel by road or rail then you can forget about consistent coverage between cities. This of course is dependent on region of the country. 5) Regarding the billing issue I mentioned above: T-Mobile's billing errors seem to be related to their ability to time stamp the call. It wasn't that my sister was getting billed from some other user across the country. It was that after she made a 5 minute phone call, T-Mobile didn't stop recording the transaction for 3 hours. Computer glitch... 6) Although I don't question your hacking abilities, I do question whether your last paragraph is relevant at all since not too many people care. Because any technology or phone can be hacked, it really doesn't matter what the carrier is. However, since you brought up Sprint: they are not GSM. They are CDMA. This technology is far superior (some would say) because of the transfer rates of data and bundling of packets. So if you are looking for a cell phone for data transfer, surfing the web, downloading software (palm phone) or files, you'll want to go with this technology. Additionally, Sprint and Verizon are the ONLY companies that have their very own dedicated network, with Sprint's being fully digital CDMA technology. So Darkdoj, I agree that you may have a soft spot for T-Mobile, the best option is probably wholly dependent on region of the country and type of phone. Even though there are hundreds of sites for slamming Verizon, Sprint, etc., the following posts are in response to the original thread and to provide info based on my response above. I found hundreds, but got bored after reading the first 50: http://www.thesqueakywheel.com/complaintlist.cfm?ID=1933 http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/ripoff30848.htm
Re: Re: Re: T-Mobile-What CRA do they check? Well...We went to T-mobile in the Sam's here, got approved for the family plan last saturday. By Tuesday we were VERY dissatisfied with the service, called them up and cancelled the phones and brought them back. T-mobile has a 14 days contract waive part so we weren't held to the 1 yr contract cause it was cancelled within 5 days. We had such terrible service that EVERY call I made was disconnected in route or didn't dial thru. The phone was not the problem cause when I called my husband (free wire to wire minutes) directly at his phone I could talk to him but it was bad connections. I will never get another t-mobile account again. In fact I'm going to wait awhile for another phone now.
Re: Re: Re: Re: T-Mobile-What CRA do they check? I am sorry for your trouble iambroke. Sprint offers free minutes to any other Sprint phone, no need of a plan. One good thing about T-Mobile though-that 14 day contract waiver (which is pretty standard stuff anyways) Sorry to be an ad for Sprint... but I'm sure Verizon is ok too, where you are at. One thing though, if you are interested, I think Sprint offers bundled services for pcs, local and long distance service in FL. Not sure if it's available yet, but you might want to call about it. Otherwise, Verizon should be ok as a wireless carrier there as well. Good luck!
Re: Re: Re: Re: T-Mobile-What CRA d I've been with Verizon for years with absolutely no problem. Sprint coverage areas are limited if you're not in a major metro area. In fact, one of the routes I take to work would be roaming on Sprint, to the tune of 69 cents a minute. Verizon has good coverage, good plans, and EXCELLENT customer service. (24/7, by the way).
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: T-Mobile-What C I said Sprint had the roaming charges. I don't know much about T-Mobile, I was just saying I like Verizon. I have no roaming and no long distance charges anywhere in the 50 states.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: T-Mobile-What C T-Mobile uses GSM...the only network in USA to do so...which means unlike the other mobile companies in USA I can send and receive text messgaes from friends around the world try doing that with Sprint!...simply because the rest of the world uses GSM network...T-Mobile also has the cheapest rate plan (start at $19.99) and best choice of mobile phones... T-Mobile rules...
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: T-Mobile-What C Ive had T-Mobile over a year and called all over USA from California to Florida to New York never had any "roaming" charges...get what I have, a tri-band phone, then you dont have to worry about coverage areas and "roaming"...because a triband phone covers all the different networks and frequencies..and thats if your with T-Mobile...
