Hi My granddaughter got into debt with a phone company, this was eventually paid off 2 years ago, I am assuming that somewhere her name is on a bad debt list as she has been refused a mortgage. My question is is it possible to get her name removed from this list and if so how do you go about it?
First, she needs to get copies of all of her credit reports and see what's on there, who's reporting and how it's reported. There may even be erroneous entries, or maybe she doesn't have enough credit, or maybe her utilization is too high. But until she gets copies of all three reports, you'll never know what the issues are.
