My mom passed in June, I have her mail forwarded to my home. Got an offer for her from Cap1, sounds like a great card (excluding Cap1's CL reporting) - 5.99 FIXED APR on purchases & advances, 1% back on purchases and of course, no fee. The offer that came addressed to me was - 9.9% fixed APR (sounds good so far), a slew of one time and annual fees such that you wind up with $72 credit on a $250 credit limit... $72 annual fee.. I thought the Cap1 offer was addressed to me, then I realized it was my mom's name using my address. Obviously, we have very different credit ratings. I am thinking about applying online, since I can change the name and submit my info. I am curious...
I got a $72.00 offer from CAPITAL ONE A FEW YEARS AGO... I sent a PFB and explained to MR EUGENE COOKE about my other credit limits--F.I.C.O. scores--and my 20+ years of credit...I later got a "REAL" offer "PRE-APPROVED"--$7,500--NO FEE
Sorry if I didn't make this clear - the ripoff card was NOT a Capital One card - some other subprime leech. I'm wondering what people think of Cap1's "prime" sounding card. The CL not being reported aside, sounds like a great card - 5.99% fixed, no BT fees, 1% cashback w/a promo 5% back in the first six months. I am seriously considering applying for it online, since I've got the promo ID number and the address is the same.
