I applied for and recieved all of the cards I wanted to get, with a lot of help and insight from everyone on this board! tell me if this sounds like a good way to use my credit from now on... amex starwood: use as a debit card, for anything I would normally pay cash for mbna worldpoints: use as a debit card when amex not accepted, for anything I would normally pay cash for(following advice of board to not carry balance with MBNA amex blue cash: use it to carry balances when need be for higher amount items(better interest rate than rewards cards and still decent rewards) chase platinum: use it to carry balances when amex is not accepted I chose to apply for seperate cards to carry balances on than my everyday cards(or debit cards) because it would get confusing what amount I would write a check for at the end of the month(how much I would carry over to the next month, plus interest rates are higher on my rewards cards), if anyone has any recoommendatiosn on how I should do it differently by all means shout them out I guess this thread is really just to say thanks for all of the great advice from everyone on this board, you all have been extremely helpful in guding me to setup my good credit future and I appreciate it greatly! Thanks!
That's a nice assortment of cards you've got. Now you can age the accounts and get your scores back up. Congratulations!
thanks! the way I figure it, I can get one stay in a 100-150 a dollar night hotel for 2800 points whereas with mbna worldpoints that would have only been 20 bux or nothing else can be redeemed that low, also with starwood, if you transfer 20,000 pts into a frequent flyer program gives you 5,000pts for free, so all in all I think it is a great everyday card
