Looks like Target will start Co-branding their card with VISA! GOOD NEWS! November 29 2000 TARGET TAPS TOTAL FOR VISA PROCESSING Target Corp., of Minneapolis, says today it will use No. 2 card processor Total System Services Inc. to process the new Visa cobranded card issued by its Retailers National Bank subsidiary for its big Target discount-store division
I wish I knew. I just found this on the web. I hope they would convert everyone. Perhaps someone can call and find out the details?
Now I also know Sear is doing this with MC I believe and it stated that they would offer this to their current customers only by special invitations. Don't know if Target will do the same? Mom
BETTER NOT BE EXACTLY LIKE K-MART...YOUR CREDIT LINE IS LIKE $500.00 BUT YOU CAN SPEND MAYBE $400 AT K-MART WHICH MEANS YOU CAN ONLY SPEND $100 AT ANY OTHER STORE...THAT PART OF THE PROGRAM DOESN'T COMPUTE!!!
RE: I don't want a co-branded! I have my Target card to use as a retail card. I have by major CC accounts, and I don't need or want another right now. I will cancel if they force a changeover. If it is offered by invitation only, based on the way you handle the account, etc., I'll probably be getting something (not to be cocky, but I do what I need to do to keep in excellent standing). Besides, Target/Retailers National Bank hasn't updated my account on cr's in over 5 months. I think they stopped reporting, and if Retailers continues to supply the VISA, it probably won't be reported.
They will do it in-house through their wholly-owned cc bank, Retailers National Bank (same as for Daytons, Marshall Fields, Hudsons, and Mervyns). I wonder if it will be for the Target division or if it won't be for the Dept. Store division (ala Nordstrom, who's doing Visa and Visa Signature co-brands)? ---side note--- someone asked about Sears MC... that is NOT offered to "good customers" - those that run a balance and pay on time -- it's offered to customers who don't carry a balance. That way they make a little money off of them (interchange, about .75-1%) and keep in touch with 'em.
