I would like to get a Target card and have read here that it is pretty easy to get and I need a retail card. I have applied for Target a few months ago and was denied. I think my score is a little higher now so I am thinking of trying again....but don't want to waste /the inquiry. Does anyone know what the min. score requirement is? And is that all they look at?
My score is 583, and I work at Target. DENIED! There is another poster here, that got the card with 593. I really doubt that 10 points makes a big difference. I have a Discover Chargeoff and a few late payments. When I called to ask why I was declined, the guy told me it was mostly because of my lates. The letter I got said: -Major past or present delinquencies or public records. (I don't have any public records) -Too few bank revolving or department store accounts. (Just got the Bonton and Orchard Secured. Only BonTon is reporting) -Too few satisfactory accounts in proportion to total accounts. (True) Hope this helps. Erica
Orchard approved me yesterday, and the card is in the mail. The BonTon is a department store in NY. That is all the cards that I have except my Check Card (visa). Hope this helps. Erica
Re: Erica Erica, Why don't you apply for First Consumers National Bank? They report to all 3 major credit bureaus monthly. Ron.
