I got my Target denial letter today. #1 Reason - too many recent inquiries. #2 to few bank revolving or department store accounts.

I recently purchased a home, so I have inquiries for all the new services (phone, electric, water, directv) plus I was shopped around for the mortgage(at the beginning of construction and again at the end of construction) My EQ score is 628.

Is there any department store card I can get???

Ask for reconsideration. I think they should overlook the ones for your utilities-everyone needs electricity, running water, etc, lol. :O)

I guess they pulled eq 10 is just too many even 5 is to many for a lot of credit companies you can try providian if tou must have a card they should pull ex.
sorry for the bad news just hang in there and good luck let me know what happens.

I agree with this. I'd call and ask for someone to review your application and report. Mortgage shopping and getting utilities hooked up wrecks your score on inq. But if a real person sees that the inqs aren't for other cc but for the above, they may override the decision.
