I called Target today to see if I was eligible for a CL increase since I just passed my six month mark and was told thye no longer do manual increases, all are computer generated. I then asked about a reduction in my APR, was transfered and told that they had already lowered my APR once (@ activation) and would not be able to lower it again.........EVER!! She told me that I would stay @ 15.9% forever.

    What a BS card...

I PAID BOTH OF OUR CARDS OFF AND PUT THEM IN THE SOCK DRAWER!!!

My wife was told she could get a lower interest rate when the card "EXPIRED"...that is like 11/2004!!!

...and she was told they only do "AUTOMATIC" increases...BUT WITH ALL THE CARDHOLDERS ON THIS WEB SITE AND NOBODY HAS HAD ANY "AUTOMATIC" INCREASE EVER...I KINDA' THINK SHE WAS LIED TO!!!

Now that I do a search I see that this is old news. I guess that's what happens when you don't read the board daily anymore.

    THAT'S OK...

If you ever do get a limit increase...LET US KNOW...

Don't hold your breath though...you will turn BLUE and pass out!!!

I got the same response today. They told me I got one reduction at activation and can never get another one. She said the initial interest rate was based on the FICO credit score one had when they applied.

THEY ARE THEN ASSUMING THAT YOU WILL NEVER HAVE BETTER CREDIT, EVER!!!

What is FUNNY about this STUPIDY, is that I ASSUME most people here can ONLY GO UP...(F.I.C.O. WISE)...

I will get them out of the SOCK DRAWER and use then for a can of gas (one time for each card)

    ...$2 or $3???

Go from >$1,000/month (WIFE) to $3.00/year???

Call until you get a "yes"...even if you have to get the call escalated to a supervisor(which is what I did to achieve my APR decrease).

They are "programmed" to give everyone that response, but YOU CAN GET A LOWER APR.

IT'S NOT WORTH IT...unless 9.90% is your lowest...it is one of my HIGHEST...

What do I tell the supervisor. That I just want a lower interest rate?

"I would be willing to pay 9.90% interest...BUT 12.90% or 15.90% IS TOO HIGH"
    ...or some such thing...

I have used 9.99% or 9.90% interest rate as an upper limit (SO HAVE OTHERS HERE)...
