first credit card app since CH13BK filed in 1996 and discharged in 2000.

    approved for Target platinum,
    requested same,
DID NOT ask for guest card option
    approved online,
    granted $700 line of credit
no annual fee, 18.9% I believe

Equifax score 681 at time I went on line

Current Exp 614, up from 545 Oct 2001
    Current TU 598

Any ideas what I can expect in credit limits in the coming months>

I plan to use card to purchase gas and groceries. Intent will be to pay off in full or almost in full each month to build up history.

    Hello There,

I just got off the phone with 3 different customer service reps and they all told me that no they don't offer a Platinum visa card they only have 2 color of cards one being the red and the other being the silver which looks like Platinum color but is not... hope this helps...

Congrats on your approval of the card!

Have a nice Memorial Day Weekend...

    Thx,

    Kev

No, just the red and silver colored cards. The Guest gets to choose which color they prefer.

sorry for confusion about silver versus platinum. guess I should have known better than to assume. But, I have always been partial to silver jewelry over gold, so there you go. (never have had anything platinum, whatever that means...)

And yes, I plan to use the card very wisely. I didn't become debt free in order to start screwing up finances for a second time. Once has been more than enough for me.

I waited pretty long to start worrying about the inaccuracies on the CR's...I had no idea, until my auto insurance company started using TU to "assist" in rating their customers. so, even tho' my Chap13 Bk will fall off in 9-12 months, I am now trying to raise my scores by getting inaccurate information deleted.

Kinda sad, but...I am just excited about having a card where I can pay it off each month, and establish a positively reporting trade line. ( I do use my debit card currently, so I can access the 24 hour pumps :) :) I don't want y'all to think that I am at risk of not being able to get gas without a manned attendant, LOL.

And I AM excited to get the card without putting down a security deposit and/or paying a annual fee.
Maybe I shouldn't be, but it seems to be a step in the right direction, one that doesn't have a $$$$$ financial outlay to get there.

If your worried about "GOING INTO DEBT"...TARGET has on-line payments...as soon as the charge(s) shows up...YOU CAN PAY...you can make 2 or 3 (or more) payments per month.
