Hey, guys & gals..I'm being lazy and hoping for a quick response... I've gotten my first increase from Target (the guest card, not the visa) many moons ago...does the second increase come automatically or do I need to seek it out and when? You all are the best! Thanks! NanaC who is coming down from sensory-overload in the ugliest way from Vegas. :::ching, ching:::
Halllooooooooo, I know someone knows this..are you all gonna make me search for this? Oh, the horror!!! What if I, gasp, perspire or something? LOL
I'm not sure how they do their auto increases but I do know that if you call the customer service number on the back of the card there is an option to request an increase. It tells you in about 1 second if it was approved. I think you can do it every 3 months or so and I did not see any inquiry on CR. Kim
Hi,Kim...ok, I was thinking of doing it but wanted to see if I was within the time range....appreciate the info and your helping me maintain my no-sweat attitude! Teehee
Awww, can't process my request...can't figure out why...perfect credit, never late, go figure...grumble
You may want to try during working hours. Many computer systems seem to do weekly maintence on Sunday - Sunday night. Good luck.
NANA C. I tried to.. It gave me the same message. It answered so fast I think that preapprovals are loaded in there system. Seem like I am not worthy of one.. Oh well.
Ok, it just worked for me. My Target guest card had a pitifully small LOC of $600. They just raised that by $200. Now the card has a pitifully small LOC of $800. Regardless, this is great info, and I'll have fun revisiting this every few months. Doc
When I got my first raise to my wonderful $500 now, I tried online 2 weeks before my 4 months and no dice. Then, I got an automatic one at 4 months. Only I can't remember how long it's been. I'll call and ask why? I've got a perfect, I mean spotless record and there really is no reason. Congrats Doc... Sorry, Fat Jake..at least I'm in good company!
Hey, has anyone had any luck with a PlanetFeedback of Target...or any thing at all for me to go on wiht PFB and Target?
NanaC The number to call is 1-800-659-2396 Then press *, 3, 0 This will get you to a real person. I would guess that you need to ask for a credit line increase. The time between increases you can get is three months. I was told by a service representative that if you apply for a credit line increase and are turned down, you will be automatically rejected for 30 days. I asked what kind of lines were normal and I got the impression that $1,500 was typical. I just got my Target signature card bumped up $100 last month after having the card for 7 months. Good luck.
NanaC, My card started out in 1996 w/$300.00 c/l, & every since I calld the phone # on back of the card (6 months EXACTLY...less would AUTO DENIAL) & was increased $100.00 each time. There was no inquiry except for the A/R's that they do every 90 days. Sister Girl
I have tried since Jan. I think to get a cl increase. I was denied of course, reasons why: 1. account history to new 2. account balance to credit line too high 3. serious delinquency on your credit report. 1. I've had the card since 1995. 2. If I had a decent credit line then the ratio wouldn't be so high. 3. that charge off is listed as in dispute. I'm going to try planet feedback and see if I get anywhere.
It's so confusing how everyone gets different info from Target. I have had their guest card since '97 (5 long years) and have never received an automatic increase from the initial $700 limit they gave me. The acct has always been in good standing. Two weeks ago I did the automatic option and was able to get a $200 increase. I them called back because I thought that was kind of low after 5 years of the same limit and spoke to a rep who told me that you have to wait 3 billing cycles to get another increase and that you have to pay more than the minimum due during that time. And she said that they don't give automatic increases. But it seems like people's experiences have differed widely here.
Well, that's a lot of different experiences. I got target on 7/10/01, four months later to the date, got an increase, that was 11/01. So, it's been 7 months. I have paid more than the required payment about 1/2 of that time since 11/01 and 100% before that. Our balance is closer to the limit as the limit is low as suggested. Quite frankly, I'll pay them off and desk drawer the card if they don't increase. Will see what PFB gets from them. But, I don't need any company like that and because of the low 500 limit, I have no real problem paying it off. At this point, I have to say that Capital One wins the reward-you-for-good-payments award!!! What a difference!
Interesting thing with the Target Visa. Within a couple of days I applied for two cards. 1) The Target Visa online. Equifax pulled (647) and given $500 line at 18.9%. Score low for overutilization of credit (but perfect payment history). The second card a MC (First USA Bank) approved for $11,500 0% - go to of 8.9%. They pulled Experian 669. I do have strong credit lines and good salary. Got the Target for 10% off. Will see if they increase CL on their own.
Target is bizarre. I got my letter of explanation today for no increase and it says *Account too new - 10 months *Insufficient payment history - huh? My accounts go back as far as possible (Am. Exp - perfect) on a cr for good accounts...huh? *Your credit report shows serious delinquency? Ummm, it shows exactly what it showed when you gave me the card and the 4-month increase which was a paid account due to drop off in 11-02. Idiots. I'm sorry....I'm so not happy with Target!
ME 15.90%--->12.90% $10,000 INSTANT APPROVAL CALLED FOR INCREASE...GOT A REAL BIG ONE...$500!!! WIFE 18.90%--->15.90% $10,000 INSTANT APPROVAL CALLED FOR INCREASE...GOT NOTHING...THEY SAID WE CHECK THE ACCOUNT EVERY MONTH TO SEE IF YOU "DESERVE" ONE!!! We were BOTH told NO MORE REDUCTIONS IN THE INTEREST RATE TILL THE CARD EXPIRES... Somebody here got 18.90% down to 9.90% in the first 2 months!!!
