Ah, the devastation, the pain, the humliation! After being approved over the past month for a 6K Chase Platinum, 8.2K Genrations visa and a 6K citibank mc - TARGET Visa "approved" me last nite for a measley 700 bucks at 18.9%. Thery checked my Eq which was 698. gotta admit - i was dumbfounded. Called them up - said it must be some kind of mistake - can i get a manual review - they said no - it's all computerized - we can close the card if you like - I was so pissed - had them close it on the spot. There was only one inquiry over the last 6mos on Equifax. Now - there's 2 - my score surely went down - and - that's it - I'm not applying for anything for the next 12 months. Oh - and another weird ass thing - a week ago - on Equifax - my score was 704. However yesterday - before the Target inquiry - and after the Equifax file showed my debt went down by 5K - my score DROPPED to 698. Nothing else had changed on the report!!! WTF????
