I just got off the phone with the Target Visa folks. I was approved last November for a $6,000 limit but with an 18.9% APR. I called when I got the card but they told me there was nothing they could do to reduce the rate. Now I've had the card for two full billing cycles and I've charged quite a bit on it (I shop at Target a lot) and paid it in full each month. They were able to reduce my APR to 15.9%. I was hoping for the 12.9% rate but... I'll give this rate three or four billing cycles and then call back to see if they will lower it any further. So if anyone here was denied a lower APR at first, give them a call back and see what they'll do!
I have found that calling during NORMAL BUSINESS HOURS(8-5)that I'm better served than calling after 5:00 pm;my guess is that they have their calls forwarded to the regular customer service for all Retailers National Bank accounts. Just my theory because EVERY request after 5 pm led to call back during regular times(& request fulfilled WITHOUT another call). Any one else had success during same timeframe ? Sister Girl
