Since they don't have an "to increase your limit ... press ##" on the phone system, I called to talk to a real service rep.

She stated that they automatically do CL increases and she wasn't able to do it to my account manually... BUT... she gave me a phone # to call for "authorizations" as they might be able to do it.

Bingo. Great lady, took about 40 seconds, no inquiry (at least not on EQ or EX). from $7.5k to $9k.

    The # to call is ... 888-755-5759.

I have had my account since Sept (4 months & 3 days) and always pay it off to $0 each month.

I called before I even activated my acct. and got another $1000 on it. Very easy.

    LKH-

Upping the limit when it's issued is easy (any rep. can do that, as well as lower the interest rate 1 "notch").

The # I posted is for normal increases - 4 months or so after getting the card.

This slightly off topic. I had the Target VIsa for three months so I will wait.

On the other hand I had the Guest Card since Aug/2001 and tried over this past weekend to obtain a cl increase. In an computerized voice, I was rejected. I have carried a balance, paid off my balance, zeroed a balance and used almost 75% of my cl to give the appereance of being a good Target customer. So I am not sure what I am doing wrong.

    Any suggestions?

    Best regards,
    Mirage

    Mirage,

I have Target Guest Card for 2 years and I never carried a balance and paid it off at the end of the month. I usually used about $20-40 a month and paid it off. I got increase only $100 every 3 months through the phone automated system. I got my increase over $100 each time and my Target credit limit only has $800. I haven't tried the customer service to increase my limit and maybe get more that way.
