How are they different? What I mean is..is it harder to qualify for one than the other??? I have had a guest card since 1995. Anyway, a relative told me that they simply sent her the Visa card..she did not apply. They never sent me anything. MY TARGET IS PAID OFF AND I DO NOT WANT ANOTHER CREDIT CARD but I'm simply curious.
If you do a search for "target" on the board, you'll find this has been discussed a lot. Some people automatically did get switched over to the visa (in some areas only if I remember right, not everyone automatically qualified). Usually it is a bit tougher to get a visa (prime) than a retail store card, so yes qualifications are different I'm sure. If you apply for a visa at Target and don't qualify they will possibly approve you for their guest card. They did in my case and in others as well.
