    Target Visa Try Again?

Several months ago I applied for the Target Visa and was denied; however, I received the guest card w/a $200.00 limit instead. I have never used my guest card and want to re-apply for the Target Visa. My question is: Can I apply for the Target Visa even though I already have a guest card? The online application states that I will be considered for the guest card if I don't qualify for the visa. Why would they consider me for another guest card? I can't find an option on the form for *existing* cardholder. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I specifically applied for the Guest card in November 2001 and got a $200 CL. I have used it and paid it off a couple of times. I recently applied for the Target Visa and got it with a $700 CL.

If you want to apply for the Target Visa, go ahead. From what I can tell the score requirement for the two cards are approximately the same. Target is pretty lax compared to other companies these days. This may be because they are doing so well.

You may want to use the guest card and pay it off before you apply for the Visa. It might look better in terms of a profitability score.

    Good luck.

If the requirements are the same, why would they give you the guest card when you wanted the VISA?)

I also wanted a VISA and got the guest card, but I didn't have any retail cards, so it's not all bad...

Yes, it won't be a problem. I was wondering the same thing when I applied. I have a Target Guest Card and applied online for the Visa and was approved. My Equifax score was 659 at the time and thats who they pulled. I remember someone mentioning that you need a 641 or better to get the Target Visa.

    Calmest_LA,

I applied for Target Visa when I have Target Guest Card and they approved me for $8500 with 15.99% fixed APR.
