I want to apply.. BUT.. I don't want a card that is going to only give me 500.00. What's the "going" limit they are giving now?

    Don't know...but wife and I got $10,000 each...

...but then I'm the one who for MANY, MANY years couldn't even get a $500 CAPITAL ONE CARD...(from a "PRE-APPROVED" offer)!!!

I think I was on the lower, but not lowest LOC. I applied with a 678 Equifax score. They gave me LOC of $700 with APR of 17.9 I think. I plan on asking for increase of LOC and lower APR as months go by.

I think there are lots of posts about what people have gotten in reconsiderations, also.

I am certain that you are correct. If they do not have 17.9, it must be an 18.9 rate. Thank you for keeping me straight. I have never been one to keep up with the details. It would probably behoove me to do more of that.

PS --- if you can't add me and Marty'sGirl as authorized users on a few cc's , how about just flat out adopting us? I'd even get you a gift for your special day tomorrow, "DAD."

I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE 2 GIRLS...

I even adopted a girl at work (not legally)...(sad story about "D" parents and un-wed/pregnant)...that's another story...

    Happy Dad's Day to George

you know the nice thing about "girls" is that we tend to always be "Daddy's Girl"

no matter how old we may be, and no matter how many grandchildren, we still retain that special status that was conferred when we were very small...

Happy Father's Day to you, and to all the other Dads on the Board, just a little early @@@

They approved me $8500 with 15.9% fixed APR and they lowered my rate from 15.9% fixed to 12.9% fixed (first month) to 9.9% fixed APR two months ago.

Instant 10k@15.9% Lowered to 12.9 when I activated. Used PFB to get 9.9 a couple of months ago. I had not used the card.

EX was pulled with a CreditExpert score of just under 700.

Mine was instant at 10K @15.9, called three times and it was lowered the 12.9 and after reading a post
by Ron, called and lowered it 9.9.

Has anyone got a line increase yet?

Target looks at average/highest credit limits reported, for the most part, and household income.

If you have 1000 cards, you'll get a CL around 1000. If you're like George and most of your cards are around or above 10k, that's what you'll get.

I spoke with Macy's new accounts supervisor a few years ago, and she said Macy's works the same way.

The nice thing with Target is that if you treat it well, they are pretty good about limit increases (call the authorizations number, not regular customer service) every 4 months.

    Good luck,
    mj

    They gave me $5,200.

Terms suck, but they are unwilling to reduce the APR after the first initial reduction in APR terms until the card is renewed

Reshod - try calling back (several times) or using PFB.

My guest card account was at $5700 when they converted me to a Visa with $7000 (9/01). In January I asked for an increase, it was raised to $9k. In May I asked for an increase, now it's $10.5k.

Never have they asked for income (the account dates back to when it was part of my Field's account).

Here's what I got on my PFB back in March...

Persistence seems to the be key here - and with all creditors. We've all gotten different stories with different reps on different days.

I just reviewed all of my statements - it looks like I was lowerd from 18.9% to 15.9% when the account was converted ... and the drop from 15.9% to 9.9% was a result of the PFB in March - there wasn't a "step" to 12.9%.

    Good luck,
    mj

    1. Did they pull a CR?

    2. Do you still have a sample copy of the letter you sent?

    3. May I use that sample and tailor it to my situation.

I had the Guest Card for a year with a $500 limit, then they changed it over to the Visa with a $4200 limit. When I activated the card, the increased it by 1k.

Reshod- I don't have the original letter, but it was something like "I've been a Field's / Target customer for over 14 years ..." so that may have had something to do with it. I (we) also use this account A LOT - and paid it down to $0 every month (I also mentioned in the letter that unless they lowered it closer to what my other cards were - I couldn't see carrying a balance on it).

How long did you have guest card?

Just keep trying - it seems like it depends on the rep who handles your inquiry.

    Good luck,
    mj

Why does Target only allow to lower their interest rate "one time only" for the lifetime of the card with regards to purchases??? Ive had a few reps say this on the phone to me...and even their cash remains firm at 18.90 percent...I even talked with a woman in authorizations debt who said the same thing...

Or are they pulling my leg...anyone else experience this same frustration...what to do about it?

Re: Re: Target Visa.. what's the norm CL?

"ONE STEP" AT A TIME...(INTEREST)---WAIT 6 MONTHS AND ASK AGAIN...all they can say is NO

    18.90%
    15.90%
    12.90%
    9.90%

AS FAR AS CASH ADVANCE...I WOULD NOT CARE IF IT WAS 42%

F.Y.I.~~IT IS ONLY 15% OF YOUR "TOTAL" CREDIT LIMIT...
