I contacted Target today to inquire about the new visa card rumors and to ask about a possible credit line increase on my existing credit card. I was told... That tomorrow, 9-6-2001, approximately 60,000 visa cards are being mailed out. This is the "first bunch" according to the rep. She volunteered that the visa cards will have limits from $1,000 to $20,000. She also explained that not every account holder will obtain a visa card. Some of us will have standard accounts. Some of us will have visas. None of us will have both. She said that she does not know whether I will get a visa or not. No problem with me. On another topic, she told me to call back in 3 weeks regarding a credit limit increase on my existing account. At that time, the account will have been open for 6 months and I will be a likely candidate for an increase from the inital $500 limit I received when the account was opened and without a "hard inquiry". No problem here either. Lastly, as Marie and MP$40 pointed out here on the board, some account holders can get an increase before 6 months of activity as the rep checked to see if she could offer me anything early. The answer was No. Again, no problem. For what it is worth - this is what I was told. Jim
That's odd...I received an increase after only 4 months. Of course that was from $200 CL to $500 CL. Target may have different tiers for timeframes a CL can be increased like $200 to $500 4 months, $500 to $750-$1000 6 months...and so on. ---> Zaphod ;')
Thanks Jim, The imminent Target VISA seems to be the popular thought bubble here this month. Like, most everyone else who has a Target card, I just can't get enough info on it!
You are correct on the "timeframes" for systemic cli's. They are generated off of bureau refreshes, internal scoring (payments, usage, etc) and demographics at time of application.
