    Hello All,

I got my Target Visa today in the mail. The limit was 3.5K and the APR was 18.9%.

So i called Target and the lowered the APR to 15.9% and raised my limit to 4.5K.

Not Bad, for a card that I will only use for socks and undergarments.

    :)

    Hi Reshod,

    Congrats on your new card!

Do you mind telling where you live and how long you've had a target guest card?

    Thanks,

Wow that's great Reshod, nice line and good work on the Apr, and now it will be listed as a credit card, those charge cards can hurt you.

Reshod, who do you call for the increase and lower APR and what exactly did you say? I'm planning on trying it myself...got a $6000 line, but would like a lower APR. Thanks!

Dammit, I want their smart card! I have only had my guest card for 3 months, but I've used it each month and paid the balance in full. I even went as far as having them put a note in my account that I am EXTREMELY interested in their card, and that it would be my primary Visa. Hopefully that spurs them to print one out for me! I want the free card reader too, GetSmart wants $19.95 (ACK!).

I called the number of the back of the card, which was Retailers National Bank. I told her that the APR on my other cards was no higher than 12% and 18.9% was unacceptable.

Then I told her that all my other MC's and Visa's had limits around 10-12K and that 3.5K was no not a competive rate compared to my other cards.

    No Inquiries!!!!!!

She approved me right on the Spot!!

    Good Luck

I **LOVE** this company -- for over 15 years they (through Marshall Fields, Daytons, and Target) treated me very well.

During hard times, they were willing to work with me (although my limits were trashed from $5k to $500, they never reported anything negative). Over the years they've built my limits back up to >$10k at Fields and now $7.5k with Target. It's a nice ratio-enhancer!

I called when I got the card- they lowered the APR instantly.

I called again tonight (thanks for the post, reshod), and they upped the limit by $1.5k.

Can't ask for more than that (of course the stores are full of cool stuff too!).

It continues to be a pleasure to do business with them.

I just sent a complement via PFB about their Guest Card. I also mentioned that the Target Visa would allow me to spend more because of the higher credit limits/lower interest rates. Hope this gets them to send me out the Target Visa card real soon!
