    6 WEEKS<-------------------****

    Today's Top Business News
Target yesterday confirmed it surpassed the one
million mark in total cardholders for its new 'smart
VISA' card within the first six weeks of launch. As of Nov
3rd, Target had signed up 1.4 million VISA cardholders
with credit limits ranging from $2,500 to $10,000.

    Thanks for the info.

I was not aware that the credit limit on this card is in the range of $2,500 minimum to $10,000 maximum.

As you may know, I got instant approval for a $10K card Monday. However, here is something interesting - at least to me...

There is no inquiry on Experian??? When I got my $500 Guest card in April, EX was pulled. Where I live 90% of credit pulls by lenders are Experian. My EX report is clean. Not so for EQ or TU. So if Target pulled EQ or TU, they were generous with me. Or it has occurred to me that if you are a Guest card customer in good standing, perhaps Target does not pull a credit report. Internal scoring is used.

I also recently got it with a 12,500 limit @ 15.9. They pulled my Equifax (I'm in Ohio), my EQ FICO is 664.

Did you have a Guest card in good standing when you applied for the Target visa??

    Jim,
No guest card. This is my second card, in only my name, after my Nextcard. I've gotten on 3 of my wifes cards that are low interest, high limit, some months back. That has helped my score quite a bit. 2 of the the three came on my report, reporting with my wifes # of months paying as agreed. Instant aging.

I had applied for this online and was rejected. Letter said it was due to b/k (5 years ago). I have had Mervyns since 1988 and Target since about 1993. Never late, always paid off or paid more than the minimum at least. Didn't matter, they still rejected me.

Maer, can't understand why as I was approved for the Target Visa. I am 5 years post bk-13.

Wondering if Target is getting tight on applications.

    Best regards,
    Mirage

I have seen many applicants, new that is, get $15,000 CL instantly with $700 available at Target immediately. SO, I agree with Bkev (WOW!!! Never thought I'd say that). Bad Info.

    Give it a try!

    Good Luck!

    Cypri or Pat,

What did you say to the rep once you called?
Did you just ask for an increase and can you lower the APR from 15.9 to 12.9?

    Thanks for any info!

Gave it a try ladies, did not work for me. Rep said she was unable to access the $500 increase. Was it a blow off? Should I try again later?

    Monica,
One lady (Cypri) and one gentleman (Me). lol!

I had a decent limit 12,500, so I only asked for the lowered apr.

I hadn't activated the card yet. I told the rep that this would be my highest apr card yet (small white lie, it would be my 2nd highest). And was there anything I could do to get it lowered. She typed a bit, and came back with, yes I can lower that to 12.9.

    That was it.
