Hi everyone, Late last night I got the urge to reapply for target visa (for the third time). Well somehow I lucked out because this time I WAS APPROVED. I can't tell you how jazzed I am about this! Even though the CL is only $500 and the APR is 18.9 I'm still thrilled because I consider this a prime card. I couldn't have done it without you! -Sal
Congratulstions Sal. What were your scores? and who did they pull? Did you have any derogs? anything in dispute if they pulled EQ? Thanks Still no baby.
Just remember to call customer service before you activate account and request an interest reduction. Then wait a few weeks and request again. I started out same as you and I am now at 12.9%.
Sal did you get a decline the first two times? I applied the other day and got a "further processing" message. I was just wondering if this is a roundabout reject or should I be optimistic?
Kbanger, DeepTX, I had some items under dispute and they pulled equifax (score 648). They told me immediately that I was approved and gave me the CC number as well - the last couple of times when I was denied they just gave me the "we will notify you within 10 days" speal. As Christi said, I will call a CSR before I activate it and see if they will lower my apr and raise the CL. ME VERY HAPPY! -Sal
Sal thanks for the info. two last questions. 1 what did the INQ show up as? 2 what bank does Target use? thanks in advance
Dep_TX, The inquiry shows up as a hard inquiry, and the bank that target uses is Retailers National Bank. As far as I know, RNB is the only creditor that pulls equifax exclusively. I was approved for they're "guest card" back in May, and so far I have had no problems with them. The convience of online account access/bill pay really makes this a nice card to have. I don't see why you wouldn't be approved for this card as well - your scores are actually higher then mine. Good luck, Sal
Sal try Sears indoor cards they gave my mom a 8,000 limit . I apply for her online and got the approve in less then 30 seconds.
Just thought I would chime in... I have had the target guest card since 3/01. I have been holding off applying for the visa recently, because of the small limits they seem to be giving out. It seems that they are UPGRADING certain target guest cards and issuing visas with MUCH higher credit lines. my plan is to hold off applying, because I will probably get a low limit card ($500-$1000), and if I wait and get upgraded, not only will I save an inquiry hit, and a NEW account hitting my report. but from what I have studied the UPGRADED visas, report with the target guest card open date. So by waiting...the possible benefits are: no inquiry no new account hitting report and HOPEFULLY a higher credit line any thoughts on this???
Sal Thanks for the encouragement, I have applied and gotten the " further processing" message. The only thing that I can guess is that my DL is from previous address? Donâ??t know for sure, the one thing that strikes me as odd is that I applied on Sunday and there is no INQ on any of my reports. I know EQ is slow, but I applied for Citi AA and that INQ shows. (Got the further processing message from them too)
Dep, Go ahead and give Target a call and ask them the status of your application - somebody there knows whats going on. I cannot explain why there was no inquiry on your equifax report - maybe the application did not submit complete? By the way, when you applied online did you check the box that said "please submit this also as an application for the guest card"? Let me know what the CSR says -Sal
Brenda, When you say the Sears indoor card do you mean they're regular retail card? do you know what credit report they pull and what your moms credit score was at the time? Thanks, Sal
Actually, I applied for the Target Visa with the idea they pulled EQ, and was denied, but sent a Target guest card with a $200 default limit. I found out the next day they pulled TU and no one else. I applied in the store. It may be different if you apply online. I live in Kansas.
Mike thanks again, I pulled up TU earlier today and didn't think to look at the INQ closely. I will take a look tonight, a good excuse I am tring to work on some bumpage.
I recieved the Target Guest card back in april. I live in NY and they pulled Experian. The inq. showed up as RNB-Target.
I applied twice this week (not sure why) Sunday and Tuesday, and I do not have a new INQ! I am not sure that TU updates, anyone see the INQ show up late?
I was just thinking I may be black listed, I had a Marshall Fields card back in 2000 that I flaked out on. That is the only reason that I can think of for why they have not pulled an INQ. I think I paid it off but long after they had closed it. does anyone know if they have a black list?
I have no idea about a black list. (good possibility) .hvae you check the other CRAs for an INQ?
yeah I checked all three, good excuse to work on bumpage. No INQ except CITI on EQ and I applied for Target first both on Sunday. I guess I will wait until I get the letter ( or card, crossing my fingers) in the mail
I guess we'll see! Maybe you'll get a letter like the one I got from cap one in May. "due to previous account mishandleing....... but we didn't pull an INQ".
