My Target card reports to EX and EQ, seen nothing on TU yet. Both reports basically state: Dayton Hudson Operations Ctr XXXX JOINT ACCOUNT Opened: 08/2001 Reported since: 09/2001 Revolving TOO NEW TO RATE $82 - high credit 20 - min. payment $82 - balance 09/2001 - last activity Prior Paying History n/a CHARGE Excuse me, this is a credit card with a $200 limit!!!!!!!!!!!!! What should I do? Charge up the card to the limit, pay off, then do the $70-100 a month I planned? Steph
I know the feeling. Mine was like that for a whole year. The Target Visa is different. They will report the CL. You could charge it up and do the 70-100 plan, but if you try to dispute it as inaccurate, it will come back verified, without changes. Good Luck,
Make a copy of your statement, black out any data you don't want them to see and circle the credit limit with a big red pen.... then mail it to the CRAs and insist on ACCURATE information being listed for the target tradeline.
I tried twice to deal with TU on credit limit issues - Not Target. TU botches things up to the point where I suspect it is deliberate. My last resort would be to send TU a statement and ask them to update the credit limit. You will run some risk that TU will delete the tradeline. When I had your problem with Target, here is what I did. I went into the local Target store and telephoned the credit department from their Target phone. Tell them you are planning on buying a house immediately and you need their help to get the limit to show. When I did this, the Target rep. offered to send a letter immediately to the CRA's to help me out. It worked except with Experian where I then sent the statement. My Target limit shows on all 3 reports. By hook or by crook, Jim
