Currently, 2 CRAs are reporting a tax lien from 95/96. I have found documentation about the lien filing which proves that their date is wrong. I do not have proof on the release. Is there any way I can leverage the "wrong" date to get them to delete the entire item? I have disputed the dates but they told me on the phone that they have verified the dates. Which, of course, is impossible, since I know that the filing date is wrong. Any advice as to how to handle is much appreciated. THank You.

I'm not sure if you have state or federal tax liens? I fought the IRS for 10 yrs and finally got all of my liens released. I sent copies of the releases to Eq. & Exp, all came back as verified. The 2nd time around I got eq. to release (2) of 6 but no such luck with exp... I truly wish you the best of luck!!!! Please let me know if your dispute works. denddon

It's a state lien, reported as paid. Trying to get it off prior to the SOL which is 3/03 per the dates tehy are reporting. Just not entirely sure how.

With multiple disputes, (not mine, no lien filed on such and such date, should be "released") we've gotten rid of 3 each on EQ and TU. It took about 7 months. 2 of the three on EX remain, 1 was deleted on the first round. We're going to try again during CHOD. These were all satisfied state liens by the way.

On other reports we disputed 2 unpaid Federal on EQ and one dropped off. TU dispute isn't over yet.

Here's hoping I have your luck! The strange thing is, I know the dates are wrong, but if I sned them the documentation I have, they will just update it with that info and not remove it. And i am sure that they will wind up "verifying" it despite the info being wrong. A catch-22. EQ has already told me over the phone that it was verified.

a tax lien is a public record so they just pick up the phone and call the courthouse. they probably just say "is there a lien filed against so & so?" (click,click,click,click...et al) "yeah there sure is" "ok thanks, byee"

since the drop off date isn't that far off...I would just keep bugging them. Never had a lien filed on that date....yada,yada, yada...don't send them anything. there was a thread here awhile back "100 biggest credit repair mistakes"...do a search on that thread it was awesome...and alot of the posts were from people who had divulged too much info and lived to regret it!

    Hope this helps,

    clc
