Hello All, Just got an alert and when I checked the CR's it looks like my tax lein has been "released"? Sounds good, anyone know what it means? Thanks
It means the "liability" for the owed tax has been removed. You no longer are considered to owe the tax the lien was placed against. You credit report will show it as "paid" or "released". This is a plus, as previously it would look like you still owe taxes.
Like any other bit of information on your reports, you can dispute the entry. Have to cleaned up your old address and personal information on your reports? These old addresses are often used to " verify " TL's, so removing the information and disputing the lien has resulted in the lien suddenly vanishing from the CR, especially EQ and TU.
