Have Texas Tax Lien in the amount of $439.00 on Experian report (other 2 CRAs deleted) that's listed as filed in 9/1994 - per county court records.

This lien is for un-paid un-employment taxes owed to Texas when I had employees from a business I owned in the early 1990s (ignorant of the tax laws pertaining to state filling requirements - but paid social security taxes, etc).

Disputed with all 3 CRAs in 1/2003 - only Experian still lisitng and refuse to re-investigate.

    Any suggestions? Advice?

Have you paid it? Have you asked for a procedures request? Is the address still associated with the lien on your EX report?

I don't know what the law is in TEXAS, generally tax liens (IE IRS-Federal Liens), can remain for 7 years from the date satisfied

In NY State a tax lien is equivalent to a CIVIL JUDGMENT, and as such has the same reporting period as a civil judgment (As per the NY State Civil Practice Law and Rules)

Therefore the 7 year limit on reporting derogatory items would be up if it was filed in 1994.

I'm not sure if Texas law views state tax liens this way...if so you may be able to get them off your reports
