This is sticky. After a recent layoff I pulled my 3rpts planning to go back to school in the fall. I've never filed income taxes (don't ask) since 95. And I have two liens and the irs was garnishing my wages before the layoff. Before I tackle the IRS I'm thinking I must have some rights being unemployed and all. Apparently when I didn't file the IRS filed for me and then attached an assignment based upon their filings??? I don't know where to start. And I looked at some strings but luck. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Go to the URL below and click on personal taxes. If you post your situation there, an attorney who was a formal IRS Collections officer will post what you should do to resolve your issues. He's very good and to the point.
