I would have said to phone them, EXCEPT I don't like to because they are so strict about asking so many personal details since they claim they are protecting your privacy, when really they are gathering new details... like driver's license number and SSN, etc.
Contact each agency and request a copy of your report. There may be a charge if you have not been denied an account because of information from that report recently.
As someone else said, the easiest way is to get 'adverse actioned'... Try to open a checking account at a ChexSystems bank. Try to pay for a small purchase (when you have cash in pocket to pay for it on denial) with a check at a TeleCheck merchant. Not only does this give you a reason to get a FREE copy of your report, pre-FACTA. But it gives you real damages just in case it does come to litigation to get something resolved.
don't even get me started with telecheck.. i am currently in their system in error and they won't even provide me with my report. you can write to chexsystems and find out if you are in their systems. when you open a checking account get a check card and you won't even have to deal with telecheck.
You can write to Chexsystems and request a free report. You do not have to be denied a checking account to view your consumer disclosure, just write to their address requesting your CD and they will send you one. Do not give them your DL #, just your SSN and address, Name. I just sucessfully had 2 negative entries deleted from my CS file and it is now clean as a whistle! I have never dealt with Telecheck, but the advice above is good, write a check at a telecheck merchant and see what they have on ya! 3day
