*Hugs* I know you don't know me, and I haven't offered any help on this situation. I just want you to know that I am sorry to know your dad is not well plus you're having to deal with this. Personally, I just gave up writing checks and use my debit card, but I realize what a pain that can be when the card fails like your did. I just want you to know there are others out hear who care about your situation(s). Take care.
ok i sent off my letter today, in which i just stated (in very uninformed consumerish terms) what happened and that I need this report to help correct this. I kept it short, simple and didn't use "big words" - so hopefully they will understand it . I didn't quote any violations or anything. i'll keep ya'll posted.
just wanted to give you guys an update. guess what? no response from telecheck yet. how long should i give them before i send another letter. it has been almost three weeks. yes, yes, i know - i'm impatient.
I think that they have 30 days to respond to your written request did you send it CMRRR ? I remember reading somewhere that they can be held under the FCRA as they are considered a reporting agency, I will have to look it up again and let you know was there a fee involved ? or was it free ?
no fee, sent CRRR. but they don't want to give it to me. never had a bad check. i can wait another 10 days i suppose.
Hey congrats on the miracle! I have to say, you are very brave for continuing to test the waters with seeing whether you can write a check! Good for you! For future reference to others, I did find their web site, and found the info fascinating! They know the names of my banks, printed check numbers, drivers license number (the state provides this info directly), and yes their web talks about how to get a copy of your CR. Wow! www.telecheck.com the other place to check for declined checks is Shared Check Authorization Network (SCAN) www.scanassist.com
how did you find that information out? maybe i'm not talented enough LOL! yes, i kept trying...i figure the more i get declined the more "damages" because the company they claim is reporting bad check doesn't have me in their records.
Re: Re: telecheck Well, it's an interesting story how I found the info out. I found a web site, and they wanted to sell you on two credit services, so you had to interact with two other sites, and then you qualified to receive thier "secret" info. It lead me to the web sites, and I was FASCINATED to know that these companies have all this confidential info on me! Personally, I have not been brave enough to write checks where I know these services are used, so I used my Visa Debit card instead. It's a royal pain, and sometimes there are extra charges. Then again. less vendors accept checks than used to so I guess it goes both ways.

Re: Re: telecheck ok - finally got a response from telecheck...it is asking for my drivers license number, my routing and accoun number, and my SSN. shouldn' they have this already if they are reporting bad info on me?!?!!?!? how do i respond? BTW - my checks are back to being not taken.
Re: Re: telecheck I would just give them the name/address/SSN (and if I'm feeling generous DOB) That is all they should need to provide you with your report.
Re: Re: telecheck well they already have my name and address since they replied - but do you think i could get away with only sending the last 4 of my ssn?
Re: Re: telecheck You could try... Just state that because of the nature of the mail there is always a possibility that the mail could be lost/misdirected/stolen, you will provide them with the last 4 digits of your SSN to match their records. You will not provide them with the account #, and routing #, as that information could be used to create fraudulent checks in your name, if the correspondence gets lost/misdirected/stolen. Your company should have this information already, since their company is providing information which is resulting in an adverse actions against me, and your companies failure to immediately provide me with my report from your agency is in violation of federal law.
Re: Re: telecheck My wife was in KMC last nite. The guy checking out in front of her got his check refused. I told her it was probably Telecheck or chexsystems playing games with him.
Re: Re: telecheck thanks! i'll try that. telecheck and chexsystems, IMO, don't help business' with trying to eliminate non-payment - the smart people can cheat the system...its the people who's accounts are mistakenly reporting bad that these business' lose business from because telecheck and chexsystems don't help people correct mistakes (sorry about the run-on sentence). thank god for check cards! BTW - chexsystems has my first name wrong - they list me as jennifer ****....my name is not similar to that at all (despite my moniker here).
Re: Re: Re: telecheck i should add that if i sent them my current account information it won't match what they have because my account is new and i have no idea what they have in their system.
