Have read various helpful posts on getting judgments removed from credit reports. Does anyone have specific extra info on getting a judgment vacated in Texas. Specifically, my husband had an account with a credit union. He is a painter (as a second source of income) and was paid with a bum check by a small hardware store that went out of business. As we were trying to collect from the store and work things out, the credit union went to court to collect. The court papers were delivered to my husband's post office box. He misread the court date and in the interim he was in default. The judgment was for $4937.00 in December 1998. Thanks for any replies/info.
I'm sure that all states are different, but in OH, I believe it's one year from the judgement date that you can file to vacate the motion. My boss is going through the vacate of motion at the moment. It is a real estate transaction, but I don't think it matters what the judgement is for. Hope that helps.
reply to Queen_Bee QB: Thanks for asking. No specific responses. However, I conducted a search on previous posts and printed useful information.
