I sent a letter thru PFB about an hour ago to Capital One requesting a lower APR and to unsecure one of my cards. I just got a call from Mr. Cooke. He had already received my letter and had a chance to review it! I have 2 Cap One cards - secured MC since 01/01 and unsecured Gold Visa 07/01. The current APR on both is 19.8% and Mr. Cooke offered to lower it to 13.9%! He also said he would unsecure my MC and apply the security deposit to the balance. I didn't want to push my luck and ask for a limit increase, since it's not that important to me right now. I am soo happy (it doesn't take much, does it?)!! I did a funky little happy dance and my 3 year old son started cracking up =0). Thought I would share my success. Mr. Cooke rules!!
Thanks, ladies! I may write to him in a few months regarding the $6/month fee on the "GOLD" card and increases on both cards. I haven't been with Cap One long, but they've been good to me. Providian was my first card, but they stopped the line increases recently and I can't seem to drop my APR below 16.9%, so I may get rid of this card once it hits 2 years (11/02). I'm really happy about the Lerner's card, too! They've got some cute stuff in there...should be getting my card in two weeks and I can't wait! =0) Don't mean to get all sappy, but without you guys and this board, I wouldn't be where I am today with all this credit (and managing it quite well, I must say). I've learned so much from you guys in just a year (which went quickly). Now if I can just get approved for the Silver AAdvantage and do a BT... =0)
