Creditnetters, A couple of months ago I posted some questions here after reading many many posts. I had 3 derogatory collection accounts to clear from my wife's credit before we close on a house. I disputed, requested verification, and then sent pay for delete letters. Although none of this initially helped me, when i did finally have to pay off the creditors (~100$ total), one of the agencies sent me a letter saying 'due to your unique circumstances we have agreed to delete the TL'. Sweet. So now of those 3, 2 are 'collection paid' and 1 is gone. By way of score bump, when these cleared the credit score went up ~75 points!! So thanks for the advice and the help. My only final question is: one of the accounts hasn't cleared from TU yet, and it has been 30 days. Do I call the CA or TU? Thanks for your help, and to those working on this process, keep at it and take advice. Since I started working on my wife's credit it has gone up ~100 points. -Floydilian
Congratulations on the score increases! It's always great to hear the success stories! I would call TU first, to see where they are in the process. If they state they have no info or update yet, then call the CA. Most likely you'll volley back and forth until you narrow down where the glitch is. Keep up the good work!
