My credit repair journey has come to an end, I just recieved via fax a deletion letter for the last derog on my credit reports.

It has taken me almost 8 months to remove 5 negative TL's. All were OC's and all very late numerous times with the exception of one CA.

I'd like to give a big thank you to CN for helping me gain the knowledge needed to clean up my reports.

I want to leave the building, but I don't think I could stay away for very long!

Wow! I am impressed. Since you have obviously had success with OC, could you give specific details on how you achieved your results. I have a couple of old credit cards that have come back verified. OC doesn't fall under FDCPA, so can't send validation letters. How did you acheive your results?

    Thanks.

Dixiedrifter, Congrats, I am in a similar postion as you were, I have mostly late derogs with OCs that I would like to clean up. Could you be so kind as to email me with so tips on how you handled the OCs? I am getting ready to go to step 2 of the process, as I have deleted most of my former addresses, the pinch is that all my derogs happened at my current adress.

    Huge Congrats Dixie,

You can't leave the building. You're now one of the experts.

You'll need to stick around to help others, that's how we pay it back.

    :)

Basically on my last one, I caught EQ not investigating my disputes.

So I basically just called up the legal dept of the OC, and said "Hey, I don't think EQ is investigating my disputes. They somehow managed to verify the status of my account that I had with you as being currently past due 60 days within 3 business days. This is on an account with a DOLA of 07/01 and one that I have disputed directly with you.

I'm getting ready to sue someone over this. I have provable actual damages already, and I'm getting ready to go mortage shopping next week and any adverse action taken by a lender over the above referrenced account will result in considerably more damages than I already have.

I don't really believe you are responsible due to EQ's negligence in handling my disputes. Is there any way you can verify that you were not contacted by Equifax during xx/xx/xx to xx/xx/xx?

Next thing I know, the OC is saying they are instructing all three of the CRA's to delete the TL. And on top of that they gave me written confirmation that EQ has not contacted them concerning my last dispute!

    Damn Dixie,

We might be able to develop a Guerilla Tactic outta this. Would be especially effective for a pd. account.

    Good Job.

Yes, now that I think about it, this could be a great guerilla tactic.

I'm pretty sure OC's get sued all the time for CRA's negligence and willing to bet they would be more than glad to help keep the CRA's in line as it would save a lot of money in legal fees.

I'll try to come up with a sample letter and a set of guidelines for use in the next few days then float it on the board here to see what kind of feedback it gets.
