I went to the DMV and had my SSN removed from my license. (gosh I feel dumb not doing it sooner ;-(

Thank you guys very much ;-)

    Thank you George and Sassyinaz.

Lbrown59: I am sorry I hi-jacked the original post, but, I did learn some good info.

Tnobles: I wanna thank you too and say, 'watch out for the hurricane, itsa coming'.

Nave: Your link was great for the world trade center, it really put everything into perspective.

I hope I haven't forgotten anyone, because all of you contributed to this great event. (I want to sound like I am at an awards ceremony)

    Thanks guys..........

Do not feel dumb...it is the STATE who should inform you of the disasters you could face, why they even LET you do that is beyond me. At the minimum they should have a pamphlet describing the hazards of ID theft when you use your SS# as your license#.

Anyway you did the right thing. Feeling safer now? Glad to hear it! :))

    -Peace, Dave

    about the hurricane

Believe me I know, my mother in-law owes us about $50,000, and is the middle of financing an old rental property, well the mortgage co. calls us today and says 'we are trying to finish up the paperwork on the rental property but we need proof of ins.' so my hubby calls and nobody can write the policy as of today, until the hurricane passes. I told the guy at the mortgage co. 'That's just our luck, now we have a deed to a house that probably will not even be there next week.' That is just about right, if something happens to the house we are out 50k. but I'd rather laugh than cry. when Georges came through couple of years ago, destroyed just about everything

    Gosh Manequinne,

You don't let things sit around on your to-do list for very long, LOL.

I'm glad you changed it and that it went so fast.

Nodding with Dave, we really shouldn't have to figure these things out the hard way.

Thank goodness for credit-net, I say!

    Sassy

    LET ME SEE~~~MY SS# IS 222-22-2222

OK, I MUST USE THE SS#....BUT PEOPLE IN COLORADO HAVE A RANDOM NUMBER SYSTEM...FIRST 2 NUMBERS ARE YEAR OF ISSUE...THEN 7 NUMBERS JUST LIKE THE SS#...9 NUMBERS!!!

    DUHHHHHH!!!

    CO 92-222-2222

    ~10,000,000 AVAILABLE NUMBERS/YEAR, EVERY YEAR...
