About 2 years I came here for help, my scores were in the upper 500s or so, and I couldnt get anything. Now I have 5 cards, BofA Plat 2K 9.99%, Providian Plat 3K 12.99%, Target Card $500, Kohl's $300, Circuit City $500. Disputed a few things got my score up from the original ~580 or so and got up to the lower 600's... got the Kohl's card and Target card and waited a year and I moved up to around 655, I applied for BofA and Providian and got approved for both, and waited about another year and was up to 730! Last week I went to purchase my first car in 5 years and got approved for 4.2% 60 month loan. Couldn't have done it without your guys help. Now I need to get rid of the Target card as I never use it, and try to pick up a better rewards card, and can providian. Would love a chase rewards card, or a Amex Blue, but dont want to apply until Im sure they wont pull EX, their still my one bad report at 660, due to one bad credit like I cant get removed from them.
Major congrats. You're doing great. Is the one derog an upaid CA? If not, perhaps they won't count it against you??
Re: Re: Thanks Guys! Got a new car. WOOOO just got approved for $2000 for a Amex Blue, I have now hit every goal I wanted for the near future! Wonder if I should close my providian card now, I will still have a handful open, and its one of my shortest open cards. As for the derog... it is unpaid $74 derog, luckily noone around here pulls Experian so I havent worried about it. There is no way Im paying the $74 and resetting the 7 years when it only has 3 years left.
