"That's not our job sir it's yours"

That's a quote for the books.

I got it todau from a customer service rep from CSC (an Equifax affiliate) in response to my question of, " Isn't it your job to report 100% ACCURATE information in my credit report?"

Now while I THOUGHT my question would be interpreted as a rhetorical one (as it was meant), but she sas, "That's not our job sir it's yours."

I was absolutley dumbfounded. I had the recorder running and asked to hear it again. She then repeated herself. TWICE she tells me it's not their job to report accurate information.

Wow, she then asked if I would like to dispute anything over the phone. I replied no, and I would send it via US Mail CRRR, in case a lawsuit needed to be filed at a later date.

    Whew, I'm pissed !

I guess I got off on a tangent on that last post. The purpose of my call to CSC was to find out about some inquiries that were listed on my report. I wanted to get into contact with those people who had no authorization to request my report.

    Guess what?

CSC has no info on them at all. No phone #'s, no addresses, nothing. What is this BS? They can give out my credit report and all my personal info to anyone they know NOTHING about?

I think I want to leave the country now.

So how do you get these morons to do ANYTHING for you?

Since in todays society you obviously need to know absolutley nothing about your job, I'll be applying for a surgeons position at the hospital tomorrow.

Dr. Texas.. has a nice ring to it!

I hate to say this...TECHNICALLY THEY ARE PARTIALLY CORRECT...they just report what is give them by the credit card/loan companies, etc...and you have to check it to make sure it is...
    100% COMPLETE AND 100% ACCURATE...

They can not check each item for ACCURACY before putting it on your report...MOST of it is done by computer...

YOU HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A 100% COMPLETE
AND 100% ACCURATE CREDIT REPORT...AND THEY CAN'T STOP YOU OR PREVENT YOU FROM DOING SO...AND THEY CAN'T USE THE LINE "WE ONLY REPORT WHAT WE ARE TOLD TO REPORT AND INQUIRES ARE A MATTER OF RECORD~~~THEY HAPPENED"

I agree with you George, but this was after I was trying to dispute an inquiry that I did not authorize. They couldn't come up with any info on the party who pulled my credit. Instead of delete it, she was, in essence, telling me that it wasn't their job, so it was mine, but wouldn't delete it based on my dispute. So how does one go about it, retain God and sue them?

GEORGE. I understand what you are saying about CRA's not being able to verify everything put on your report. But then why do they insist an investigation MUST be done before any negative item is removed to verify that it is inaccurate. Seems to me they are perfectly willing to accept the word of the creditor at face value, but make the consumer verify everything.

It is their job to ensure 100% accuracy by investigating every item and providing some kind of proof to their consumer to ensure that it is legit and should be on the report.

I recently had to deal with this over at EQ with some CSR who said I had to call all of my creditors and ensure what they were reporting was correct. Hello, that's not my job. I then told her to INVESTIGATE it. They may not want to call to track down all your info, but once you request that investigation they HAVE to.

I would like to be a rocket scientist! Beam me up Scotty (rather send the CRA's and CA's to one of those horrible planets that Captain Kirk and Spock visited)!

That's what I said above. No it isn't. It's their job to 100% accurately report what the CA and OC tells them to report. It is not their job to make sure that the information reported to them is 100% accurate. They may assume it's accurate until you dispute it's accuracy.

It's another form of "Estoppel By Silence", so to speak.

    THE GEORGE FACTOR...

When you QUOTE THEN QUOTE AGAIN...the "GLITCH" in the system loses the first QUOTE and sends it into CYBER-SPACE...(I HAVE LOST "TONS" OF POSTS BECAUSE OF THE "GLITCH")...

I have been accused of having ESP...that's fun...(answer the question BEFORE it is asked)...

I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but no ones home for me to vent too just yet =(
