I am so confused! Can someone please shed some light on the online dispute for CSC (EQF). I have now used it twice, and I still don't get it.

I disputed 3 items on 5/1/03 online. I printed a copy of my dispute which the printer put a date and time on the bottom of as well as the sheet that said "Dispute Received Successfully!" This was also dated and timed. None of the 3 items had gone into dispute on the 10th. So, I called CSC and asked. The rep told me that all online disputes are printed out onto paper. They are then put into a que for the telephone reps to key between calls. I asked her what date the dispute became effective. She said "the date it is keyed into our system." Well, I don't think so! My dispute has now registered today, May 16th--16 days after it was submitted successfully online.

Does anyone know what these codes mean in the soft inquiries:

    CSC Consumer Disclosure

Equifax Consumer Services (I think this is when you pull your own report through Credit Watch)

CSC Consumer Reinvestigation (This had always been either the start or end date of a dispute, but I don't have one for the start of this current online dispute)

Equifax Consumer Services - Cp - What is this? This is a new one on me. Does it have something to do with the online dispute request?

Any guidance would be appreciated! Thanks!

    You are right.

When you call them to discuss your report, you will get a soft pull

    yep

yep again. I used the CSC online dispute one time, and I don't like it. If I recall my EQ never showed any sign of receiving the dispute until it ended.

This just started showing up recently on my CW when I pull a report. About the time the order confirmations changed, and the line that says "optional score" changed to "score"
The joke was CP = Creditnetter Pull.

    Re: The 3 C's - CSC

So you don't think there is any way to see when an online dispute should have began? Do you think it is going to be a huge fight to hold them to the 5/1 start date?

I would call up on 6/1 if you haven't gotten a response to the dispute, ask to speak with a supervisor, and explain to them that on 5/1 you entered a dispute. That dispute was recieved by them and you have proof of that with your printout. 30 days later, they haven't responded to your dispute so you have the right to demand deletion of the disputed tradelines because they didn't validate them in the 30 days alloted by the FCRA. Inform him or her that the violation would make them liable for $1,000 per violation, so if you disputed 5 items, they could be liable for $5,000. Don't use the word sue, or threaten to sue, just let them know that you are aware of the laws, and that they're in violation.

The problem with this, is that many CRA disputes are done electronically and come back in a week or two at the most, so they'll probably respond before the end of the month.

Don't plan on filing suit, but you can expect that if they don't finish an investigation before the end of the 31st of May they will agree to delete the tradelines. Now they may re-insert them but that's another story.
