I like my AMEX Delta Sky Miles card. A majority of normal purchases count for Double Miles (gas, groceries, Home Depot, etc). Between my wife and I working the different accounts, bonuses, etc., we have had four round trips and have enough for 2 more, all in two years of use. AMEX is always doing additional Double Miles promotions. Bought a vehicle last December during a double miles promotion and put $10,000 down on it on the card, then paid it all off the next month. Cha-ching, almost a free flight just from that. Our focus is on maximizing the value of the free flights as well. 30,000 miles will get me to the Caribbean. That's nothing to frown at! Problem is, not everyone takes AMEX. Works for us though. The day I can make mortgage payments on the AMEX. . . . .
