I'm sure, I am in the minority, but I really like my Cap 1 cards. The only problem I have w/ them is not reporting the limits, but that is easily solved!! Oh and they do report as unsecured! $99 secured dh for $500
Found this on a search: quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Originally posted by jason1971 Umbrella bank, American Pacific Bank, Orchard Bank, Amagamated bank of Chicago, Sky pass from U.S Bank are Very easy secured cards to obtain that report to all 3 CRA's as unsecured. You could have a FICO score of 400 with BK and get these. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Keep in mind, though, that Umbrella Bank is no longer accepting direct credit card apps. They're "only offering the cards to qualified customers who are also opening a deposit account." And it doesn't look like the Skypass card is bk-friendly, either: http://www.usbank.com/cgi_w/cfm/cre...ass_secured.cfm wajaba
As another poster said American Pacific Bank (www.apbank.com - affliated with AOL somehow) has an excellent secured card that reports to all three credit reporting agencies, and doesn't report as secured. Supposedly, this card can become totally unsecured in as little a 18-24 months. You can increase your credit limit by depositing more money without extra fees. You can't be seriously deliquent in any account - I don't know what that means. If you have a bk 13 you must wait six months before applying; with a bk 7 if it's been less than 12 months since your discharge you have to send AP a copy of your discharge. And you have send current income info like paystubs or w-2's. Current annual fee for the consumer card is $35 - APR is 17.4% fixed, not variable. Reading right from the current application - says "minimum CL will be 100 -150% of your initial deposit ($200 min deposit)... Unsecured portion of initial CL will be based on your credit profile at the time your account is open". I'm sitting on this application in case I need another positive tradeline. Hope this helps. Oh, and Amalgamated Bank of Chicago is supposed to have a great secured card, too, but I don't have their application. Check out www.bankrate.com and through some navigation you'll find their list of secured cards. Take care.
