Ok, as many of you know, I was furious on the 7th because my credit privileges were revoked as a result of an Equifax credit report that was pulled by a creditor. This is the first response I have received of the 3 PFB letters I sent. They went to The Bon Ton, Fair Isaac, and Equifax, all on the same day. I guess my major question is how to proceed with this letter. I have documentation of unfair reporting by Equifax and how it cost me my charging privileges. Is it time to sue? A post will follow with the text of the letter I got from The Bon Ton. TIA
I would like to rebut this letter, please. I am going to do it paragraph by paragraph. 1. I understand that concept. 2. My Equifax FICO has never been below 567. What is a bankruptcy score? I never filed bankruptcy. Equifax has 1 collection listed twice and updates the date of last activity as the date the collection was "verified". As a matter of fact, I have had the same credit profile since March. The only thing that changed was the added duplicate collection and the dates. My account was originally opened in 1995 and was current/never late when I closed it in 1997. I opened a new account that has never been late and always current, in March 2001. 3. I never asked for them to review my account. Should be a soft inquiry, not hard. I was not applying for credit. 4. I don't want anything from them. If this is how they treat a good customer, then the card can sit in my sock drawer as a good trade. 5. I don't understand their position regarding me. As I have said before, I have never been late on this account. Why are they punishing me? With all that said, do I have a solid case against Equifax?
Do they have you confused with someone else? Bankruptcy, with no bankruptcy...that's a bunch of crap!!!
Well, I would want to know what the hell they mean by a bankruptcy score? Find out if they have you confused with someone. That would be my first tip-off....the BK thing.....if you never filed, find out what knid of idiots that you are dealing with at bon ton
The answer to your question is No.. Bankruptcy score is a score that Creditors use to determine the risk of a possible BKO, ect..
That's a touchy one....I am sure there is someone that can tell you better than I. Sorry. They always say writing is best, but if you're like me, you won't be able to wait to get someone on the phone.
So, basically what you are saying is that, Equifax's report on me is so grossly wrong that I'm at risk to file bankruptcy? I would say that that is negligent behavior if I ever saw it.
This is a bit off-topic, but what in the world is "The Bon Ton"? It sounds like a French pastry shop or maybe a Malaysian gift market. Do tell. -- Psych "Try the Bon Tons, They're Delicious!" Doc
Aha, well your 4 malls are different from my 4 malls. I've never heard of 'em before. Live and learn. Doc P.S. While typing this, I went to their lovely web site and saw that The Bon Ton only has stores in 9 states. I say screw 'em, Erica. I know, I know, they're probably your favorite store. In which case, screw 'em a different way.
As of right now, they are my oldest trade. I have to keep them for that reason. But I don't understand hy Equifax is doing this to me.
I would be pissed. Do use letters Erica. Create a paper trail. If you do have a phone conversation follow it with a letter the same day. Just my .02 Good luck.
