ok, I have an unpaid medical collection dating a few years ago on my CR (for some reason my insurance decided not pay for an urgent care visit but no one ever told me!). The CA I believe is also the local credit bureau (Allstate Credit Bureau in Detroit). Has anyone been in a similiar situation? Any pitfalls or pointers when dealing with a CA/CRA?
I found nothing on this CA/CRA in MI in www.bbb.org. Googled it, found them in NY, but nothing in bbb for them there either. Do you have a phone #? Sometimes, CAs make their name look like a credit bureau, which is a violation of the FDCPA if they are not.
