    List,

When any of you have "disputed" items in your CR to get a "bump." How often has the CRA not been able to "confirm" the derog, and it has fallen off?

    Does this ever happen?

I started in Feb 2002. I now have 7 deleted and 4 changed to the good side. my scores are going up but not fast enough, LOL.... I wish it could be done over night but it is time consuming and well worth it.... out of the 7 deleted i had to repeat 2 of them 3 times, twice were online disputes and the 3rd time was a letter, and they were off as of friday!

I just started my dispute process a few days ago (online). I will post my results as they occur for the list's FYI.

For me, EX and EQ are tough as nails....I have made very little progress with them. On the other hand, TU has been a breeze. Every item I have disputed with them (with the exception of one) was removed. I believe I had these results for two reasons:

    1) The derogs were extremely old, like 1997 and earlier and
    2) TU's system is so antiquated that their work is unorganized and they end up deleting by default.

I can't tell you how many tradelines were verified by EX and EQ and TU deleted. But it was lots. The biggest prob I have had with EQ is that they keep screwing up...like disputing for the wrong reason, adding consumer statements instead of disputing, changing my address to former addresses, the list goes on. The people that work there are complete idiots and haven't a clue what's going on. None of them have heard of the FCRA--3 different reps in their call center admitted this to me. I find this to be pretty scary. EQ is handled by CSC in my neck of hte woods.

The final derog I had was on Equifax. It took me 6 disputes to finally get it removed. I don't believe they disputed the last time, as my reports never showed as in dispute. When I called Eq. they showed it in dispute, but couldn't tell me why 2 printed (mailed reports) and several online never showed it. I suspect they got tired of me and after a few (lawsuit) comments were made, they took it off. I could be completely wrong, but it's just a feeling I have. That was 4 - 5 months ago.
