Hello Everyone! I need some quick advice on..., well,... advice I've gotten here on the board! I have sent validation letters to OC's/CA's and, throughout the last couple days, the letters have been arriving at their destinations. (working on mine and my husbands),Then I've been disputing on-line the moment the letters arrive, and now I am sending the same disputes via CRRR to the CRA's. My question is about this letter to the CRA's, do I mention that I've already disputed this item on-line and am just sending a duplicate? Or do I send a letter that acts as a brand new dispute?

Thank you all for your time and I eagerly await your advice!!!

    • Are both CRA disputes about the same thing? If so, why would you need to disput it twice?

I disputed online and sent out a letter for the same account and was dubbed 'frivolous' and accused of using a credit repair agency. It was by mistake, but I was on a disputing rampage.

Vghost is right about disputing once. Keep it simple. You are on the right track, so good luck to you.

Thank you Vghost and Chipper for your responses! Hmmm, well, I read on this board that if you dispute online that you need to also send the disputes CRRR for the paper trail. There was one person who posted that she had 8 & 9 deletions from Experian and Equifax and 15 from Trans Union and this was the method she used. Someone else replied to a question I posted the other day saying essentially the same thing, that the moment the CA's receive your letter, to dispute with the CRA's online... and I thought he also said to send by mail, but I could have assumed that as well. I know I've read about it in other posts as well.

You don't think I should do this? I deffinately don't want to be labeled as frivolous. I didn't get your responses last night, so the mail went out with my husband. I can call him at work and tell him not to send, I just want to be sure it's the right thing! Anyone else? What do you think Vghost? Thank you all for your input... I need it!!!

I would not dispute them at the same time like that. The CRA's will tell you it is either frivolus or that the tradeline was "previously disputed".

I am positively fired!!! Okay... thank you all. I just called my husband and told him not to send. I'm trying to be so careful, and I keep screwing up!!! Butch says pulling my hair out is the right thing to do, so I guess I'll keep doing it!

If you feel the need to re-dispute something while it's still being investigated, I would do it over the phone, and then only if you have some NEW information they need to consider.

They could extend the dispute 15 days if you do that, btw.

    • So, he didn't send the letter after all, right? If so, you're not fired yet ... :)

As for the hair, keep reading and you'll keep your hair fine!

No, he didn't send the letter... I do suppose I should be grateful for that! Thanks to everyone who chimed in... just in time!! (Only reason I'm not fired is no one else wants the job!! ) Thank you for the support Vghost!
