is that because of inquiries from their credit watch service, I have 2 files. I called and the rep said that they can't delete them and they can't combine the files. She also said that credit grantors should be able to get both files when pulling credit. Do I look that stupid? (Noone answer that!! ;-)

So the file that I had been working on so hard on has been replaced with some file with inaccurate tradelines and birthdates and a ton of inquires. I was never able to get the score from my first file that I was working on and it really ticks me off because I had come down to 2 negatives. I am drafting a letter to them but I know that other people have had this problem with them before. I am going to include the section from fcra that says they must maintain the most accurate info possible and argue that they aren't doing that by having 2 files. I don't know if this is enough. Can someone share with me what they did to get their files put back together? Thanks guys.

I currently have at least 3 files with them from what I can tell. Every time they send me something it is totally different from what they sent before. Some of the entries are the same but others are different (meaning creditors listed change and dates of reporting change, etc) Birth date and addresses are often wrong but not always.
I have tried to ask for supervisors when calling them but I usully don't get anywhere with them and then something else pops up. For example, I will receive a letter saying "Mervyn's has been deleted" and then two reports later guess what? Mervyn's is back on but not on every copy of every report I get. Very confusing.
I have also written to them and sent copies of the info that they themselves have given me. Gotten no where.
Wish I could help you more. I just share your frustration with them.

That stinks. I looked on the board for some guidance with past posts and I couldn't find anything specific to help me. They are getting on my nerves big time and I may have to draft a complaint.

Mom, I am concerned about this since I just signed up with CW....

    1) Do these inquiries accumulate simply from having CW (ie inquiries generated because they "monitor" your report for changes")?

    - or -

    2) Are they generated from checking your report multiple times and then accumulate over time?

Reason I ask is that I will curb my Equifax report checking through CW if #2 but I will cancel if #1.

    TIA

It's #2 because on my second file, there are all of the dates from me checking each day. And I check it each day. That caused the problem.

I know the feelin' - I did that for a while on CreditExpert until I saw the inquiries building up. Thanks.

At least with credit expert, they will delete them. Or at least they did with doc's trick but equifax are being very stubborn.

But aren't these just soft inquiries? What harm is it doing? I check on creditexpert everyday, but if I can't check it without harm comin' my way I'm cancelling for sure.

    BTW: how do you cancel?

Yes, and according to EQ yesterday, this is what caused me to have 2 files. They won't even consolidate them. I am not going to check as often since it hurts my ability to see my report. From my complaining on this board I guess, now I can see my correct file as of this morning.

As I stated to Lizardking in my other thread, if jedi EQ says there isn't a problem and it was in my head, it was in my head!!!

    lol

Sassy, I couldn't help but laugh when you said "summons Lizardking." I thought about Bewitched "Calling Dr. Bombay, emergency come right away."

    Milkmom,

May I ask how many inquiries, approximately, resulted in problems with EQ? I just signed up yesterday for CW. I have no problems (yet) viewing my file. However my file has 90 inquiries, all soft. I was planning on checking my file weekly, but that may be too much.

I requested to "opt out" 2 months ago but still my file shows many "prm" inquiries on there.

There were about 35 on there. Just beware. I think I want a refund at this point. We will see....

If you CAN'T "get a new one" every other day...resulting in no less than 182 inquires...maybe even 558 inquires, WITH-OUT IT FREEZING UP, THEN IT IS NOT UNLIMITED!!!
